- "This is an excellent dog park area with separate areas for small and large dogs. If you are looking for a beach area for your dogs, Ft. Walton is not where you want to be. This park is on the bay so there is only a small strip of footage for a dog to roam and generally there will be at least one large dog not on a leash that will frighten off other dogs (poor owner responsibility). But if letting your dogs socialize, this is a great facility within the fences. There are also picnic tables, etc. for a family gathering. Like some of the other posters mention, it's a shame there isn't a designated area on the gulf side for dogs but since it is primarily on a small island (gulf side aka real beaches) I'm sure the city just doesn't want to deal with the problems."
